April Evening

The painting depicts an April early evening and as the spectator looks out of the
window towards the hills, there are sheep and lambs grazing in the far distance.
Psalm 121 verse 1-2 comes to mind:
”I lift my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon at night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life;
The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. NIV
We thank God that Jesus has become our True Shepherd by dying on the cross for us
so that we ”may have life and have it to the full.” John 10 verse10.
”For you know that it was not with perishable things, such as silver or gold that you
were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors,
but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” 1 Peter 1 18-
21.
In Isaiah 53 verse 4- 5 we read:
”Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished
by God, stricken by him and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
NIV.
In John 1 verse 29 we read that St John the Baptist declared:
”Behold , the Lamb of God ,who takes away the sin of the world” also Luke 3: 22 ”and
the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove and a voice came from
heaven ”You are my beloved son , in You, I am well pleased”.
May the Holy Spirit descend also on all of us.
Lord Jesus, I pray you will also be pleased with us as we place all our hope in You and
may the blessings of Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be with us and grant
us a Blessed Easter ….. Shalom my friends! Amen.
