ELA 2019: Bill Johnson highlights our challenge

"You are God’s idea, and He longs to see the treasure that is in your heart. As we learn to dream with God, we become co-laborers with Him."

Bill Johnson of Bethel Church brought us a message reminding us that the most difficult battle that we fight is a battle with our minds.

Bill outlined how in order to win this fight, we must spend time with Jesus, worshipping him, reading his word, chatting to the Father, bringing our lives before him in every area. By doing this we will see our minds transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, as transformation comes through our relationship with Jesus. When we spend time with the Lord, we will begin take on our new identity in him, and learn to involve him in all aspects of our life.

He also said that our destiny in God has already been prepared for us to walk into. But to walk into this destiny we need to hear the Lord’s perspective on every situation we face. We need to lean into Jesus and on his promises to us, and look for his provision. By doing this we will not be fazed by the obstacles that the enemy will throw in our way and we will grow in faith. Bill reminded us that faith is the result of surrender and not of striving. God has promised that he will never fail us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6-8). As we bring everything in our lives to the Father, he will direct us in life and in prayer. Walking close to Jesus will free us from the fear of man.

Bill also summarised how Jesus has called us into relationship with the Father through Himself, he has told us to ‘heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils and cleanse the lepers’. Jesus is the healer, He and He alone has paid the price that enables mankind to receive healing both physical and emotional, He alone can make us whole. A close relationship with Jesus and the Father is the only way we can walk in the healing ministry; it’s the only way we can walk in any ministry. We need to know what the Father is saying to us through the Holy Spirit; we must do the will of the Father and pray according to his direction, in every situation.

He also commented by walking in a close relationship with the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we will learn how live in and carry the presence of God.
