The Good Shepherd

In the painting of “The Good Shepherd” we see Jesus finding His little lost lamb.  We don’t know for how long this little lamb has been lost but we can be assured of the joy that Jesus has when He finds it.  “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine in the mountain and go and search for that lost one?” Matthew 18:12.

“In the same way, I tell you that there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent.”  Luke15:7.

“He will tend his flock, like a shepherd he will gather the lambs in His arms.”  Isaiah 40:11.

Thankfully Jesus has no favourites…  He doesn’t compare us by saying he or she is better than this one etc, or one is more affluent than the other, or he or she is better clothed or more beautiful than the other…  He just loves us unconditionally!  Praise the Lord!

“Man looks at outward appearance but God looks at the heart.”  1 Samuel 16:7.

Thank you Jesus that You tell us in Your Word, “I am the Good Shepherd.  The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”  John 10:10.

Thank You Lord Jesus for dying on the Cross for us all and forgiving us our sins and setting us free and “By Your Wounds we are Healed” Isaiah 53:5

Thank you Lord Jesus that You are “the resurrection and the life” John 11:25.

Christ has truly risen from the dead and… in the words of Saint Augustine “we are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song”.

May Almighty God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless you and your family this Easter with His Peace, Joy and Love, Amen.
