There’s an old expression, “You can’t stop a bird flying over your head, but you can stop it building a nest in your hair.” Thoughts fly at us all the time, we can’t stop that but we can choose what to do with them when they do fly at us! Thoughts don’t come from us they come at us. Negative words are like shrapnel, they’ll cause serious head injuries, but they won’t harm us if we’re wearing our ‘spiritual armour,’ especially our helmets! Most of our troubles are ‘mind troubles,’ that’s why God provides us with ‘shrapnel proof helmets’ to wear! If we keep saying we’re sick, and we believe that we’re sick then in time, we’ll make ourselves sick! Sickening! The devil knows that we like the sound of our own voice! “The inhabitants shall not say, I am sick.” Isaiah 33V24. Couldn’t be clearer!

The tongue is the most powerful organ in the body because there’s the power of death and life in the tongue, according to Proverbs 18 V21. We confess either life or death! It’s a choice!  Words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook. Proverbs 18V4. The devil has only one weapon in his armoury. Words!  He will always speak to us in the first person, with an “I” in order to deceive us so that we’ll speak ill about ourselves.

He knows what the Word of God says about faith. Faith comes ‘comes’ by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Negative faith ‘comes’ the same way, by hearing and hearing a negative confession. “I feel useless today, I’m going to get a headache after having my vaccination. I feel sick today, I’m not going to make it. I really feel all washed up. I can’t do it. Philippians 4V7-8 says. “Finally, brothers whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things.” Think about it!
