By Mike Robinson – Part 1

I used to be an Ad man working for a number of international Ad Agencies and one of the responsibilities of those that worked in the creative department was to visualise an idea before it was illustrated on paper by hand so as to replicate the finished Ad, poster or TV commercial. These creative ‘bods’ were not surprisingly called visualisers! I could not draw for toffees, but I was a creative/conceptual thinker. One of my colleagues would then visualise the poster, Ad or TV commercial that I saw on my inner movie screen, sometimes in a dream. It was only when Spirit of God took up residence in me that I learned that I was “Seeing” something that was invisible to the natural eye.

It wasn’t until about ten years ago that I understood how Biblical this really was. Ephesians 1 V18 talks about “Seeing with the eyes of our understanding” or with the eyes of our heart or with spirit of your mind. Ephesians 4V23. In the original Greek, understanding is translated as the mind and imagination. Pulling the loose ends together that means “Seeing through the eyes of faith.” I had no idea all those years ago that the Holy Spirit was training me to “See” what was in the invisible realm through the eyes of faith. Our God does exceedingly more abundantly than we ask or imagine. Ephesians 3V20. Mental imagination is intricately linked with the Spirit of our mind.
